Windows Libraries

Learn how to add, organize, and manage media libraries on your Windows Plex server.

  1. Open Plex Web: http://localhost:32400/web
  2. Click + next to “Libraries” in the sidebar
  3. Select library type (Movies, TV Shows, Music, Photos)
  4. Name your library
  5. Add folder paths
  6. Configure scanner options
  7. Click Add Library
  • One movie per folder recommended
  • Naming: Movie Name (Year)/Movie Name (Year).ext
  • Supports: Collections, reviews, trailers
  • Organized by series/season folders
  • Naming: Show Name/Season XX/Show Name - SXXEXX - Episode Title.ext
  • Supports: Season posters, episode ordering
  • Artist/Album folder structure
  • Metadata from file tags and MusicBrainz
  • Supports: Lyrics, album reviews
  • Date-based organization
  • EXIF metadata support
  • Albums and smart collections
